We service ALL MAKES AND MODELS OF MOTORCYCLES.

Bill "Slam" Dunkus, owner of Interstate Motorcycles, has 40+ years in the motorcycle industry at all retail levels (Sales, Service and Parts). He specialized in Service, which led to an interesting and educational span of nearly 20 years as the Motorcycle Repair section Leadman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. He also worked at World Cycle, Bob Schultz Motorcycle, and Route 66 Suzuki in St. Louis.
Attended the Standard Technical Institute of Motorcycle Technology, Kawasaki Factory Training, Trident Motors (Police Tri-cars) Factory Training, Moto Guzzi Technical Training, Hyosung Technical Training, Royal Enfield Technical Training, and many other OEM sponsored training sessions.  He was a Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program RIDER INSTRUCTOR / COACH (MSF program) from 1980 to 2005.

Aaron Baumann, our Service Manager, is very experienced in the repair of all makes and models.  He has become an expert in the repair of Hyosung, Moto Guzzi, and Royal Enfield, and has learned just about everything there is to know about the repair of all these Chinese scooters that have flooded the market.  He will be celebrating his fourth year with us this summer, so Slam has shared his expert knowledge of his 40 years experience.  He has also attended Moto Guzzi Technical Training, Hyosung Technical Training, Royal Enfield Technical Training, and many other OEM sponsored training sessions. If you leave your motorcycle or scooter with our Service Department, they will definitely be in good hands!

We have HUNDREDS of tires.  We stocked up on all sizes of Dunlop motorcycle tires last fall so that we could offer the BEST PRICE around.  We have D401, D402, D404, K591, Qualifier, and Roadsmart in stock, along with some sizes of Michelin and Avon.  We also carry all sizes of Shinko Sportbike Tires.  And if we don’t have it, we can order it at our reduced prices.  Check with us first for tires and, if we don’t have the lowest price, we will see if we can beat or match our competitors.  And, unlike most other dealers, we can usually get you in the SAME DAY you call, and you can wait while we install them.

Tech Tip of the Day !

We see it all of the time at Interstate Motorcycles. It is the single most common cause of GREATLY increased maintenance cost on ALL motorcycles, every make and every model, easily adding hundreds of dollars every year to the already high cost of properly maintaining your bike. It is also the single most common cause of handling difficulties and perhaps could be categorized as the single most common mechanical failure responsible in single vehicle motorcycle crashes. And, what's perhaps most troubling to us when we see it at the shop is that this particular maintenance item is the MOST SIMPLE of them all, requiring no special training, experience or tools to properly perform. What, you ask is this magical maintenance tip? Checking and properly adjusting your tire pressures.

Every motorcyclist should become well adept at checking your own motorcycle's tire pressures every chance you get. It's painless, easy, cheap, will lengthen the life of your tires and could save your life. The simplest and most important thing you can do for your tires' health and you and your passenger's safety is keep them inflated to the designed pressure. Remember! It is the AIR that supports the entire weight of your motorcycle and it's pay load (That's YOU), not the core, rubber, steel belts or beads. You really are taking a magic carpet ride on a cushion of air every time you ride. Not sure what pressure to run? No problem. Look around your motorcycle at some of those little warning labels like on the rear fender, under the seat, back on the swing arm or even staring right up at you on the center of your gas tank. SOMEWHERE on your motorcycle itself, the engineers who designed it have left you a note so you can take care of this matter properly. It may even be embossed on the VIN tag on you motorcycle's steering head. If you can't find it on the bike OR in your owner's manual, give us a call at Interstate Motorcycles and we will help you sort it out, but don't continue overlooking this critical safety and maintenance procedure.

Why would someone who sells as many motorcycle tires as we do want to offer you a tip to greatly extend the life of your tires? Simple, we at Interstate Motorcycles want you do enjoy the maximum life from those costly tires we sell and install for you. But even more importantly, we want to make sure that you are operating the safest motorcycle you can be aboard and continue to be the valued customer that we consider you to be for many, many years to come.
